About Luisa Alvarez.
I’ve had the good fortune to contribute to numerous organizations, brands, and teams as a multidisciplinary thought leader and as a professional abstract thinker. Because of my background and experience, I have a variety of skills and abilities.
I have a positive outlook on life and believe that “Whatever it takes!” is a valid part of any job description. I recognize the significance of being able to quickly and effectively adapt to a company’s changing needs. To overcome potential obstacles, it is necessary to utilize one’s inherent creative and inclusive abilities. Regardless of the job description, the ability to switch gears efficiently is essential to my success.
As a professional, I excel at materializing visions. My methodology is based on an inclusive strategy. My experience has shown that when collaboration and inclusion are at the core of a strategy, innovative solutions to complex business needs are generated. Beginning with your why and inviting others to the table transforms ideas into limitless opportunities.
My passion and calling for inclusivity are evident in my most recent contributions to PBS and 9NEWS, where I had the opportunity to transform 9NEWS’ organizational health, brand, and culture by building our brand through an inclusive and strategic approach that empowered brand ownership and strengthened internal relationships. While during my time at PBS, I had the incredible opportunity to revamp how we communicated our equitable commitment through our content channels and community partnerships.
Now, if you’d love to learn more about me and my background, I’d be happy to connect! In the meantime, please feel free to review a few of my contributions to the rebranding of 9NEWS and its culture.
Introducing Brand Value.
Brand was a foreign concept to this 9NEWS prior to my arrrival. It had relied on the success of its past and was dependent on breaking news to drive engagement. This affected the culture which had digressed into a disjointed and negative culture which resulted in the loss of talent, viewership, and revenue. It was business imperative to reshape the organization’s operating model and rebuild the brand from the bottom, up. I introduced an inclusive and strategic approach and engaged the collective with multiple 8hr offsite brand workshops with a diverse scope of employees. In these workshops, we educated employees on the true value of the brand and what it could mean for our organization if we worked together to build it.
Brand Workshops
Speak. Easy. Dinners.
In the process of reshaping our culture and introducing the value of brand to our organization, it was vital to begin the process of embracing our newly introduced values by providing team members experiences that contributed to open and inclusive conversations that strengthen employee relations while actively engaging said core values. I launched this culture-building experience with the series “9NEWS SpeakEasy Dinners”. It allowed space for our influential hosts to lead the discussion with the core value that resonated with them the most and it provided them the opportunity to bring that core value to the forefront. It allowed team members to engage and take a deep dive into what these core values meant, not only for the success of our organization but for the success of the individuals at the table as well.

Fearlessly Me.
In the midst of unprecedented heavy news cycles, it was imperative to the organization that we did not lose sight of the core values we built together. With a strategic approach, I piloted the “fearlessly me” internal campaign. Internally we communicated which core value, key employees, connected with the most. This allowed employees the opportunity to connect and engage with their fellow team members while exploring what these core values meant for individual contributors to the organization.
